WordPress migration service
We move one WordPress site from one host to another and test the copy on the new host before the DNS is changed. For site owners who are changing hosting and do not want to do the move themselves.
In short
- One site, one move, at the price shown on this page.
- The copy is tested on the new host before the DNS is changed.
- It starts with a free diagnosis, so you have a fixed quote before anything is moved.
- A bigger job, such as several sites at once, gets a written quote.
A migration moves your WordPress site from one host to another. We copy the site to the new host, test the copy there, and only then is the DNS changed so that visitors reach the new one. Until that change, your old site keeps serving visitors.
It is for the point where you have picked new hosting, or have to leave the old one, and want someone else to carry the site across. The service is one site and one move.
What is included
- One WordPress site moved from where it is now to where you want it.
- A test of the moved copy on the new host, before the DNS change.
- A free diagnosis first, which gives you a fixed quote in writing.
- A written quote instead, if the job is larger than one site and one move.
The price is shown on this page.
How it works
Step 1: Ask for a free diagnosis
Tell us on the free diagnosis page where the site is hosted now and where it is going. Say if it is a store.
Step 2: Get a fixed quote
We reply in writing. A plain move of one site is the price shown here. Anything larger gets a written quote before work starts.
Step 3: We copy the site and test it
The site is copied to the new host and tested there. Your old site stays live while this happens.
Step 4: The DNS is changed
Once the copy has been tested, the DNS is pointed at the new host and visitors start to arrive there.
What it does not cover
- More than one site, or more than one move. Each is a migration of its own. Several sites together get a written quote.
- Hosting. You buy the new hosting plan. We move the site onto it.
- Email. Mailboxes kept at your old host are not part of the move. Find out where your mail lives before you cancel the old plan.
- Rebuilding a site from another platform in WordPress. That is building, not moving. See custom development.

Common questions
Will my site go offline during the move?
The old site keeps running while the copy is tested, and the DNS is changed only after that. After any DNS change, some visitors still reach the old host for a while, until the change has spread. Keep the old hosting active until the new site has been serving visitors without trouble.
What do you need from me?
Access to the site where it is now, and to the new host. The DNS change is made wherever your domain is managed, so have that login to hand too.
What if my move is not a plain one?
Say so when you ask for the diagnosis. Several sites, or a site that has to be rebuilt on the way, are larger than this service. Each gets a written quote before any work starts.
Who looks after the site after the move?
The migration is the move and nothing after it. If you want updates, backups and monitoring handled from then on, that is a care plan. The plans are on the pricing page.
