WordPress speed optimization

Speed optimization is a one-time job on a WordPress site that has become slow. You tell us which pages matter most. We measure them, do the work, and measure them again, so you can see what changed.

Most slow WordPress sites are slow for ordinary reasons. Images are far larger than the space they fill. Pages are rebuilt from scratch for every visitor. Scripts and styles hold up the first view. The database is full of leftovers, or the site runs on an old version of PHP. Which of these applies to your site is what the first measurements show.

Who it is for, and who it is not

It is for the owner of a WordPress site whose pages have become slow, and who wants to see figures and not take a claim on trust. That includes:

• a business site whose home page and landing pages now take long enough for visitors to notice
• a store whose product pages, cart or checkout are slow
• a site with or without a care plan, since this is a single job

It is not the right purchase in these cases.

• You need a promised score, a pass on Core Web Vitals or a higher ranking. We promise none of them. The speed optimization cost guide explains why nobody honestly can.
• The hosting is the limit. If the server itself is what is slow, the answer is a different hosting plan, and that is not part of this job. The cost guide has a section on when to spend the money on hosting instead.
• The theme or the pages need replacing. That is a rebuild. See custom development.
• You want speed looked at regularly. The Business plan includes a speed tune-up every quarter. It is on the pricing page.
• The site is not on WordPress.

What you get

• Figures from before the work. You choose the pages, such as the home page, a main landing page and the checkout. We record how each one loads before anything is changed.
• The optimization work. We work on what the measurements show is slowing those pages.
• Figures from after the work. The same pages, measured again, so the two sets can be compared.

What you hold at the end is both sets of figures for the pages you named. They show what changed on those pages. They are not a promise about any score, about where the site ranks, or about what a visitor's own phone and connection will do.

How it works

What we need from you to start

Only what the free diagnosis form asks for:

• your name, and an email address for the reply
• your site's address
• the pages you care about most, and what you notice on them

Name the pages that earn or cost you the most. For most sites that is the home page and the main landing pages. For a store, add a product page, the cart and the checkout.

We reply to the address you give, with a written cause and a fixed quote. Whether to go ahead is up to you. We use these details to reply to you about this request, and for nothing else.

What it does not cover

• A promised score, ranking or result. How fast a page can get depends on its design, its plugins and its hosting. We report what we measured. We do not promise a number.
• Hosting. If the server itself is the limit, the answer is a different hosting plan. That choice and that bill are yours, and they are not part of this job.
• A rebuild. Replacing a theme or rebuilding pages is a larger job and gets a written quote. See custom development.
• Sites that are not on WordPress.

Before you buy: measure it yourself, or do it yourself
