WordPress design and development

Design and build work on a WordPress site, from one landing page to a full redesign. There is no fixed package. A small job is sold as developer time by the hour, and a larger one gets a written quote.

In short

  • There is no website package with a set price or a set number of pages.
  • A small job is developer time, by the hour, in blocks.
  • A job larger than that, such as a whole site, gets a written quote.
  • You have the quote before any work starts.

This page is for when you want pages designed and built in WordPress. That can be a new site, a redesign of one that has aged, a single landing page, or the product and checkout pages of a WooCommerce store.

We do not sell this as a package. There is no set price for "a website" and no page count on a menu. A small job is sold as developer time, by the hour, in blocks. A larger one gets a written quote. Either way, you have the quote before work starts.

What is included

  • Developer time, sold by the hour in blocks, for a small design or build job.
  • A written quote for anything larger, such as a full site.
  • A quote before work starts, in both cases.
  • The hourly price, which is shown on this page.

How it works

  1. Step 1: Describe the job

Write to us on the contact page. Say which pages you need and whether there is a site already. Link to one or two sites you like the look of.

  2. Step 2: Get a quote

We quote a small job in hours. A larger job gets a written quote.

  3. Step 3: Decide

Work starts only after you have the quote and agree to it.

What it does not cover

  • A package or a launch date. Neither is promised on this page. What gets built is what the quote says.
  • Your words, photos and logo. Plan to supply them, and tell us in your message what you have and what you lack.
  • Hosting and a domain name. You buy those yourself.
  • Upkeep after launch. Updates, backups and monitoring are a care plan. See WordPress maintenance.

What it costs

Common questions

How much does a WordPress website cost?

We do not publish a price for a whole site, because the hours depend on what is being built. The hourly price is on this page. Describe the job and you get a quote before any work starts.

Will a redesign hurt my search rankings?

It can, if page addresses change and the old ones are not redirected to the new ones. If your site gets search traffic now, say so when you describe the job, and ask for redirects to be part of the quote. We do not promise rankings.

What should I have ready?

A list of the pages you need, your logo and brand colors if you have them, the text for each page or at least notes, and examples of sites you like. Tell us what is missing.

What happens after the site is live?

A live site needs updates and backups, whoever built it. You can do that yourself or put the site on a care plan, and the plans are on the pricing page. If the finished site has to move to a different host, that is a migration.

Not sure what is wrong?

Tell us what you see. We reply with the cause and a fixed quote, and the diagnosis is free.
