Common Emergencies We Handle

Site Completely Down

Your site is showing a blank white page, a 500 internal server error, an “Error Establishing a Database Connection” message, or the WordPress white screen of death. Visitors see nothing. Google’s crawler sees nothing. Every minute your site is unreachable, you are losing visitors, damaging your search rankings, and missing potential customers or sales.

We diagnose the root cause — whether it is a server failure, a PHP fatal error, a database corruption, a depleted memory limit, or a misconfigured .htaccess file — and restore your site to working order. In many cases, we have sites back online within 1–2 hours of receiving the emergency request.

Hacked or Compromised Site

Your site is redirecting visitors to spam pages. Google is showing a “This site may be hacked” or “Deceptive site ahead” warning. Strange admin accounts have appeared. Your hosting provider has suspended your account. You are seeing unfamiliar files in your WordPress directory or receiving reports that your site is sending spam emails.

Our malware removal team will perform a complete site scan, remove all malicious code, close the vulnerability that allowed the breach, harden your site against reinfection, and request removal from any blacklists (Google Safe Browsing, McAfee SiteAdvisor, Norton Safe Web). Read our guide on how to tell if your WordPress site has been hacked.

Broken After an Update

You updated WordPress core, a plugin, or your theme — and now something is broken. Maybe the entire site is down. Maybe a specific page returns an error. Maybe your WooCommerce checkout stopped working. Maybe the Gutenberg editor will not save posts.

We identify which update caused the conflict, roll back to a working state using your most recent backup, resolve the underlying compatibility issue, and reapply the update safely — or find an alternative solution if the update itself is fundamentally incompatible with your current setup.

WooCommerce Store Emergency

Your checkout page is not loading. Payment gateway is returning errors. Customers are reporting that they cannot complete purchases. The “Add to Cart” button has stopped working. Product pages are returning 404 errors.

For WooCommerce emergencies, every minute is measurable lost revenue. We prioritise store emergencies and work to restore purchasing functionality as the first priority, then investigate root causes and implement permanent fixes. See our WooCommerce maintenance service for ongoing store protection.

SSL, DNS, and Email Failures

Your SSL certificate has expired and browsers are showing a “Your Connection Is Not Private” warning. Your DNS has been misconfigured and your domain is not resolving. WordPress has stopped sending emails — form notifications, order confirmations, password resets — and you are missing critical communications.

We resolve the underlying infrastructure issue, whether it requires SSL certificate renewal and configuration, DNS record correction, or SMTP setup for reliable email delivery.

Locked Out of WordPress Admin

You cannot log in to your WordPress dashboard. Maybe you have forgotten your password and the password reset email is not arriving. Maybe a security plugin has locked you out after too many failed attempts. Maybe a hacker has changed your admin credentials. Maybe a plugin conflict is causing the login page to refresh endlessly.

We restore admin access through secure server-side methods — database credential resets, plugin deactivation via FTP or SSH, and security plugin configuration adjustments — without compromising your site’s security in the process.

Emergency Support Pricing

One-Time Emergency Fix — $199

No subscription required. No commitment. Pay once, we fix the problem.

The $199 fee covers complete diagnosis of the issue, resolution and restoration of your site to working order, a post-fix backup of your site in its repaired state, and a brief report explaining what went wrong, what we did to fix it, and what steps you can take to prevent recurrence.

If the issue is unusually complex — for example, a site that has been extensively compromised with multiple backdoors, or a migration gone wrong with data corruption across multiple database tables — we will assess the scope and provide a custom quote before proceeding. You will never be charged more than the agreed price.

Already on a Care Plan?

Emergency support is included in every WP Ministry care plan at no additional cost. Response times vary by plan level:

Starter ($35/month): 24-hour response time for standard issues. Emergency calls to (901) 249-0909 are escalated regardless of plan level.

Pro ($79/month): 4-hour priority response for all issues, including emergencies.

Business ($149/month): 1-hour priority response. Emergencies are treated as critical from the moment the ticket is submitted.

WooCommerce ($249/month): 30-minute emergency response for critical store issues (site down, checkout broken, payment gateway failure).

Our Emergency Response Process

Step 1 — Immediate triage. When you contact us with an emergency — by phone, ticket, or email — our team assesses the severity and begins investigation immediately. We do not ask you to fill out a long form. We do not put you in a queue. We start working.

Step 2 — Diagnosis. We access your site through the methods available — WordPress admin, FTP/SFTP, SSH, hosting control panel, or direct database access. We identify the root cause of the issue through error log analysis, file inspection, database examination, and systematic testing.

Step 3 — Resolution. We fix the problem. If the fix requires restoring from a backup, we do that. If it requires manual code repair, we do that. If it requires deactivating a problematic plugin and finding an alternative, we do that. The goal is getting your site back to a working state as quickly as possible.

Step 4 — Verification. After the fix is applied, we verify that your site is functioning correctly — pages loading, forms submitting, checkout processing (for WooCommerce sites), and no residual errors in the logs.

Step 5 — Hardening and reporting. We take a fresh backup of your repaired site, implement any quick hardening measures to prevent recurrence, and provide you with a clear summary of what happened and what was done.

Frequently Asked Questions

How fast can you fix my site?

Most standard emergencies — 500 errors, white screen of death, plugin conflicts, login lockouts — are resolved within 1–4 hours. More complex issues like extensive malware cleanup or database corruption may take longer. We communicate progress throughout and set realistic expectations based on what we find during diagnosis.

Do I need to provide you with access to my site?

Yes. We need WordPress admin credentials and ideally FTP/SFTP or SSH access. If you do not have these readily available, we can work with you and your hosting provider to obtain the necessary access. Providing hosting control panel (cPanel, Plesk) credentials also helps us work faster.

What if the emergency happens outside business hours?

There is no “outside business hours” at WP Ministry. Our engineering team is staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Whether your site goes down at 2 PM on a Wednesday or 3 AM on Christmas morning, someone is available to help. Call (901) 249-0909 at any time.

What if my site needs more than an emergency fix?

Many emergency situations reveal underlying maintenance problems — outdated plugins, absent security hardening, no backup system, poor performance. After resolving the immediate emergency, we often recommend a care plan to prevent future incidents. Most emergencies are preventable with proactive maintenance. A $35/month Starter plan is dramatically cheaper than repeated $199 emergency fixes.

Prevention Is Always Cheaper Than Recovery

Emergency fixes address the symptom. Proactive maintenance addresses the cause. A site that is regularly updated, backed up daily, security-monitored around the clock, and speed-optimised is far less likely to experience emergencies in the first place.

After we resolve your current emergency, consider a WP Ministry care plan. Our Starter plan at $35/month includes weekly updates, daily backups, security scanning, and uptime monitoring — the exact measures that prevent most of the emergencies we see. Our Pro plan at $79/month adds daily updates with visual validation, real-time security monitoring, and 4-hour priority response.

But right now, if your site is down, none of that matters. What matters is getting it fixed.

Call us: (901) 249-0909. We are here right now.

Or submit an emergency ticket through our support portal and mark it as urgent. We will respond immediately.
